The Week the Women Went – One More Time!
Hello Fine Folks of Tatamagouche –
Brad Brough (Director) here from The Week the Women Went.
I hope you all survived the long cold winter of ’09 (at least that’s the way it was here in Toronto) and that you’re all happy and well. It’s been over 6 months since our crew left your village, and we wrapped the shooting of The Week the Women Went. You’ve all no doubt seen the series (and dissected it to your wit’s end), and all of us who worked on it hope that you were happy with the outcome overall.
The country got a glimpse into a part of the country that many have not been to, and hopefully now will feel compelled to visit. We can’t thank all of you enough for allowing us into your town, your hearts and your lives – it was a great experience for all of us involved on this end.
I’m writing to tell you that since the series was so successful in its first run, the CBC will be re-broadcasting it in its entirety this summer. It will take over the highly coveted spot vacated by the NHL Playoffs starting Saturday, June 27 at 8pm (local time) – for 8 weeks.
Hopefully it will bring back viewers who watched the first time (and maybe missed a few episodes), and attract new ones who were busy digging themselves out of snow banks. We’re all very pleased that our collective efforts will be seen again by an entirely new audience. So tell your friends, and tell your neighbours to get ready to sign a bunch of autographs this summer for the tourists that hopefully will stop in Tata and say – “Say, aren’t you that person from the TV show?”
I’m driving East this summer with my family and I’ll be making a stop in Tata to buy some roses at the flower shop, get a coffee at the Mercantile, eat lunch on Patterson’s Wharf and maybe even have a brown pop or two at the firehouse with the boys.
See you soon, and thanks again for a great experience.
